Sacrament Strand

LEARN: I can explain the purpose of the three different groups of sacraments.

The three groups of sacraments are Initiation, healing and sacrament of commitment.

The purpose of Initiation is welcoming or accepting someone into the Christian church.

The purpose of Healing is enabling people to became full members of the church.

The purpose of Commitment is enabling people to meet the risen Christ and also restoring our relationship with God.

Lectio Divina

Today I have learnt Lectio Divina. Lectio Divina is a type of traditional prayer that has a prayerful reading. This is my prayer during Lectio Divina. 

Dear almighty God, you wanted us to forgive one another like you had forgiven us. At this time of silence I ask you to give me the strength to be able to forgive those around me. Amen

I think Lectio Divina is a really helpful prayer. It had taught me a different way to pray.

Gifts God has given me

God, Te Atua has granted me with the gifts of sports and music. He's given me the ability to play netball and play guitar. I am really thankful that I have such great talents.

What I know about God

During R.E this morning, I have been writing what I know about God. This was a task that was given for us to do. This picture shows what I  know about God. God is Loving, Hopeful, Kind, Faithful and he is Humble.

The sky unlocked wide open.

I am reporting from River Jordan this afternoon where an amazing incident had just happened. When a man named Jesus is about to be baptized by John the Baptist, son of Elizabeth and Zechariah. Out of no where the sky unlocked wide open, a strange voice rumbled & a dove flew down. This could be the most amazing and scariest thing that has happened in History. Everyone is in panic and anxious to see what is about to happen. According to a friend of Jesus this event got him so shocked.

Genesis 2-3- The story of creation
The hope was that God would create light.

Matthew 24:37-38- No one know the day or hour.
The hope was that everything would be fine,even if thing got bad.

Exodus 9:13-14 Hail- The hope is that God told moses to tell the king to let his people go so they may worship him.

Exodus 15:22-27- The hope is that God would provide fresh water for them.

The dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit because it gave us peace every time. The finger of God is a symbol of the holy spirit because it help us and heal us too. The cloud is a symbol of the holy spirit because it gave us light in the world.

Holy Spirit week 1

This is the images of the Holy Spirit are water, fire and wind.

They are the three symbols of the Holy Spirit.
The fire is the burning bush because it show that the Holy Spirit was coming.
The wind was when it rushed through the room at Pentecost.
The water is when Moses held the stick up so the Israelites could go through the red sea.

Holy Faith Sisters

Holy Faith sisters look after the little kids and take care of them too.
The Holy Faith sisters started our school because they like to help the people to get their kids to school so they can learn even if they are poor or rich. The Holy Faith sisters started our school in 1958.
